To catch up....

Well...I have been quite busy at work so I haven't had time to blog. So, two weekends ago we planted a row of green beans, peas and a row of half green beans and half peas. Each row has 7 seeds. Nothing has shown up yet..but hopefully we will see something in another few days

Other than that, there has been little change in the garden. We have just done a little weeding and watering in the garden.

The spinach is not doing well. It looks like some sort of insect has been having its lunch on our baby leaves. Some of them seem ok but we need to figure out what to do about the bugs. It looks like the bugs are just eating thin curvy lines in some of the leaves. I think I may go to Primex (our local nursery) and ask them what they think. I have seen similar patterns on rose leaves. For that, I made a solution of water with Cayenne pepper. The only problem is that you have to reapply every time the plant gets wet. I want to avoid the insecticidal soap (organic) but if many more leaves become damaged, I guess we will have no other choice.

The radishes are doing really well. I hope that we can harvest them in another week or two. The onions and leeks have picked up and are looking good. Only one potato sprout has popped up. Once it did come up, it has been growing like crazy. I hope that we will get several potatoes out of that one! I don't think carrots have ever grown. You can see little plants popping up in the general area...but I think they are just weeds.
